NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer

I seem to be getting more and more obsessed with bronzers by the day! I have heard about this one lots on YouTube and have been wanting to try it. The only problem with that is you can only get it in the states (not sure about other countries). I was in poundworld just looking and I saw it! so of course I picked it up.

It is a matt brown Bronzer which isn't too orange or muddy so it is a great colour. It goes on smoothly and is very easy to blend. It is pigmented even so you don't need a lot but it isn't to pigmented so you don't have to worry about it not being blended as much as some bronzers.

If you can I really recommend trying to get it. I picked it up from poundworld so it was only a £1 and in the US I think it's around $2-3. a very cheap but good buy! Any other good bronzers out there I should try?

Essie Fiji

When I was in Inverness a couple of days ago shopping with my mum in boots what was there? An Essie stand! I have wanted to try Essie for a while but the stand's haven't appeared at my local Boots/Superdrug. I was going to order this online a couple of days ago but glad I didn't.

Fiji is a creamy, white based, pastel pink. It looks sleek on the nails but it still has a summery vibe to it.Two coats of this and you are ready to go, which is good as with most other white or nude polishes tend to be quite sheer but not this one!. I also think that this would be nice instead of having a white tip on a French manicure, having a pinky white tip.

You can pick this up from most Boots/Superdrug (not mine though, grr...) for £7.99. I will honestly say that I think this is my favourite nail polish ever! I think a little Essie package will be coming through my door after doing some damage! What are your favourite Essie colours or is there any other brands that I should check out?

July Favourites!

So I haven't got a lot of favourites for this month but the ones that I do have are truly real favourites.

  • Body Shop Duo Body Butter - Sweat Pea - It has two different formula's one for normal skin and one for dry (which I use on elbows, knees etc..). I smells amazing and the scent lasts a fairly decent amount of time too.
  • Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion - This is a sample that I got when I bought my Chubby Stick and absolutely love it! I have been using this morning and night as it is super moisturising but feels so light on the skin.
  • Bare Minerals Original SPF15 Foundation - Fairly Light - My favourite foundation, hands down! It makes you look flawless and is buildable I have a full review on it here!
  • Mac Creemsheen Lipstick - Creamcup -  A natural pink lip is what I have been reaching for most this month. It is really moisturising and lasts a good 2 - 3 hours on the lips.
  • Natural Collection Blush - Pink Cloud - I have used this at least 20 out of the 31 days this month. It gives a natural flush of colour to the cheeks, which can be put on lightly or builded up for a stronger colour.
I have really enjoyed using these products this month. I got a few new things at the end of the month so hopefully next months favourites will be different. What products have you loved this month?

Glossybox: July 2012

Glossybox - £10.00 + £2.95 P+P

I was really impressed with this months box! This box is meant to be there festival box. In my box there is 4 skincare products which I like one makeup and a perfume sample which I don't like but anyway the other products made up for it.

  • Bex London - London Urban Fragrance in W1X - I don't like this fragrance as I think it smells kind of like aftershave, but everyone is different so some people might like it.
  • Paul Mitchell - Awapuhi Moisture Mist - This is a multipurpose moisture spray. You can use it on your hair and skin. I have been using it on my skin to cool me down and give a little bit of moisture to the ends of my hair.
  • Monu - Eye Cool Gel - I have tried this a couple of times in the morning and it is really awakening and tones down my dark circles. I really like this, probably my favourite thing out of the box.
  • Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Frosting - Irish Cream Pavlova - A multifunctional cream gloss. You can use it on you lips or cheeks. A tint of colour on the lips or a glow on the cheeks. I haven't used this much yet.
  • Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - Dry Oil - I am very excited to try this. It is a multipurpose dry oil for face, body and hair. I'm not sure how to use it so I will be testing it out soon and letting you know how I get on with it. (Love the cute little glass bottle!)
        Extra product,
  • Elizabeth Arden - Visible Difference Hydrating Line - Three sachets, one of the cleanser, one of the serum and one of the moisturiser. Haven't tried it yet but looking forward to.
I am very pleased with this box. There are a lot of things that I wouldn't buy my self, which is the point of these beauty boxes to try new things. I will definitely be getting next months box.

Mac: Groundwork Paint Pot

My first Mac Paint Pot purchase might be a little different to most peoples as you would normally buy Rubenesque or Painterly but when I started to look at them I fell in love with this one, Groundwork. It a natural brown colour which leaves the eyes with just a hint of something. It isn't completely matt so it is kind of like a satin finish. You don't need a lot so it will defiantly last a while. It stays on about a good 5 - 6 hours without creasing but then it is just downhill from there. It doesn't bother me to much I will just apply my favourite eyelid primer ( bareMinerals Prime Time original) before I put on the paint pot. Or if you don't want to apply a primer you could just set it with a shadow.

I love the packaging, a little glass jar and a plastic lid! The sound it makes when it shuts... I could just listen to that all day! It is very pigmented so you don't have to use a lot and it blends out like a dream! At £14.50 I think it is worth it. Some people say that the Maybelline Colour Tattoos are dupes but they crease on me within the hour, so I don't think so. You can pick it up from most Mac counters, Mac stores and online. What ones would you recommend?

Bare Minerals Foundation Review

Hey guys, how are you?
Today I am going to be reviewing the Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation!

I was in town about just over a month ago and went to the bareMinerals counter and asked for a sample of the foundation. She was so nice she sat me up on her seat and colour matched me to the colour  - fairly light. I went off home with the sample to try the next day. I woke up and was excited to try it out well, it was like a match made in heaven! It evened out my skin and made it look flawless! I went into town the next week and bought the full size!

It leaves a lovely finish on the skin not like normal powdered foundations. It managed to make my face still glowy but not to much at the same time. It feels like just another layer of skin not a heavy layer of foundation. It says that it is clinically proven to improve the appearance of your skin over time. I think this will be a long term thing not something that will happen over one month but who knows I will have to get back to you on that one. It also says that it looks like a powder but feels like a cream, I completely agree with this it feels so creamy when you are buffing it in to the skin. Oh and just to note, to apply this I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush which is part of the Core Collection which you can pick up from boots!
It stays on the whole day ( a good 8 - 10 hours normally) without a primer. It is light-weight, easy to blend and a light - medium coverage which is buildable. I divide my face into 4 sections - right cheek, left cheek and forehead and the rest. I tend to start around my cheeks and nose as that is where I need the most coverage and then blend out.

I would recommend this foundation. Just to note I have normal - dry skin so I am not sure how this would work for oily skin but you can  get a matt version but I haven't tried it. You can pick this up from most department stores for £24 but I got mine from John Lewis.

What foundations have you been loving recently?

A little splurge...

Hey guys, How are you?

Sorry it's been a while I haven't been feeling very good, what a great way to start my summer holidays? So to try and perk myself up a bit I done a little bit of retail therapy! I have been saving for a while to get these things so I just thought, what the heck and bought them!

Yes I bought a Clinique Chubby Stick, Bare Minerals Foundation and a Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter.

I got the Clinique Chubby Stick in the colour 14 Curvy Candy. I is a lovely bright pink but a bit muted at the same time, it is also darker than a hot pink. I really like it! It is really glossy and moisturising on the lips. A full review will be coming up soon. I picked it up from Boots for £16.
A couple of weeks ago I got a sample of the Bare Minerals foundation and fell in love. It leaves my skin looking flawless, again a full review will be up soon. I am in the shade fairly light which is the second lightest. To be honest I was quite happy that I wasn't the lightest shade! It was £24 and I picked it up from John Lewis.
The Clarins counter was my last stop! I picked up the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter in the shade 02, the peachy one. I have now found my new favourite lip gloss! I'm not a big lip gloss girl but I will get onto more why I like it in a review that should be coming up soon. Again I picked this up from Boots for £16.

I am thrilled with all of these purchase and have been enjoying using them the last couple of days. Full reviews will be coming in up on them soon! What products have you bought recently?

7 Things For 7 Days

Hi guys, hope that you are all well.

As you may have seen from Louise's blog (sprinkle of glitter) or if you haven't go check her out she is seriously one of my favourite bloggers/youtubers ever! Anyway I thought that her post 7 things for 7 days was a good idea so I have decided to join in with it.

In case you don't know what you have to do is on your blog write down 7 things that you want to achieve within a week. Louise said that you can change the length but I'm quite happy to keep it with 7 days.

The link to the exact post is here - http://www.sprinkleofglitter.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/interactive-7-things-for-7-days-june.html so that you can join in with the fun to!
Anyway I better stop rambling on, so here is my 7 things,

BLOG - I haven't been blogging recently but that is going to stop I am going to aim to have at least 4 posts up this week. I hope to get more than that up but we will have to wait and see on that one!

CLEAN - My room has been getting a really big mess lately and I hate but I just don't have the motavation to do something about. I want my room dust free and all nice and shiny:)

EXERCISE - Now I hate running so I wont be doing that but maybe a little bike ride here and there, who knows?

SKIN CARE - I am going to try and remember to take my makeup off at night. Wait a minute, try? I AM going to take my makeup off night!

FOOD - Recently I have just been eating complete and utter crap! I don't mean not eating crap at all sometimes but I really need to start eating healthily.

SLEEP - I need to try and get to sleep earlier at night as I really regret it in the morning.

I was looking around a couple of online shops and the thing that caught my eye the most was this Floral Pleated Dip Hem Skirt from Topshop. I absolutely love this skirt! I just looks so flowy and light weight. I am going in to town at the weekend so I might go and try it on. I have been saving my pennies so we will wait and see what happens there but at £32 I'm not sure if I will.

I hope a lot of people do this as I think that it is such a good idea. I've got to go now so hope you have had a good day!

Quick update...

Hi guys, hope that you are all ok:)

Sorry I haven't been blogging over the last month. A lot of things have just been happening in my life recently.

I am going to be back to blogging more regularly now as I got into quite a good routine so hopeful I will get back onto that routine again.

Ahh... last week of school then...... SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!
I can't wait! I haven't really got anything planned but with more time on my hands and being out of school that will give me more time to blog and review/test more products that I have bought recently.

Anyway enough rambling I'm going to go now and write some proper blog posts. Oh also I think that I am going to do Louise's ( sprinkle of glitter )LOTD's as they seem quite fun.

Right that is me away this time. Oh wait a minute another thing. Ha, I had you fooled then, you thought that I was going to start rambling again!

Hope you have a good week and I will talk to you later!

FOTD: My everday look

Hi guys! Hope you are all well, as you may have guessed from the title I am doing a FOTD for my everyday makeup look.

First off I used boi-ing concealer in shade no.1 to hide any spots or blemishes. Stila SPF 30 oil free tinted moisturiser in shade light 03 was applied next using my Real Techniques buffing brush. Garnier under eye concealer to hide dark circles then to finish off the base I set it with Rimmel Stay Matt powder in translucent. I used my favourite bronzer, 2 True All Over Natural Bronzing Powder to contour my face then topped my checks of with Natural Collection blush in Pink Cloud. Eyebrows were simple just went over them with a clear mascara from MUA to keep them in place all day!

For my eyes I used Lemon-aid from benefit to even out my eyelid then applied Bare Minerals prime time eyeshadow primer so that my shadow would stay in place all day! The actual eyeshadow is all from the Sleek Au Natural palette. I used the colour cappuccino all over the lid (3rd from left on the top row), I ran just a tiny bit of conker through the crease (1st from left on bottom row). Then just to blend them out I used honeycomb (3rd from right on top row). To highlight my brow bone and inner corner i used the matt white called nougat which i LOVE! I curled my lashes then topped them off with a bit of Flawless Definition by Bare Minerals (favourite mascara of the moment! Just looks so natural).

Lips were kept simple by using Stila's lip stick in the colour Fiona sheered out so its not to bright.

What do you wear on an everyday basis? Any good products going around that I could use every day?

Caitlin xx

P.S. Just ordered my first GLOSSYBOX (Why has it taken me so long?)!! Post will be coming up on that when I receive it!

Marie Claire: June Mag Freebie!

Hey guys! Hope that you are well. Today It's going to be a quick post about the freebie in the June mag from Marie Claire.

I don't really pick up Marie Claire mag (I'm more of a company girl myself;)) but that didn't stop me picking p this one as you get a free Body Shop cheek and lip stain! I got the colour Rose Pink and haven't used it on my cheeks yet but I love it on my lips!

It looks really scary in the tube and super bright but it goes on really nice and a lovely light pink that anyone could wear. I use it everyday when I don't want to use a lipstick. It is great for school as lasts really long and looks natural.

Go and pick up this as it is great for the £3.70 and you definitely get your monies worth! I am also going to pick up I think the instyle magazine purely for the nails inc. polish. Hope you have a great rest of the week!

BARGAIN FIND!

I was in TKmaxx the other day and looked what I found sitting all lonely in a bag over in the corner!

Three full size Stila products! I believe that they are all discontinued but I was looking around on the Internet and you will be able to find them in some places if you really wanted them

In this little you set I got the Stila SPF 30 oil free sheer colour tinted moisturiser in light 03, a lipstick in Fiona and a lip gloss in interesting.

I got all of this for £9.99! Bargain I thought;)

This is the oil free SPF 30 tinted moisturiser that i have been loving. I've been lacking an SPF lately so this does the trick, been using it ever day and loving it! I like  to apply it with a Real Techniques buffing brush but you could easily use your fingers!

This is the thing that I was least excited for in the pack but it turns out to be my favourite! This gorgeous more orange toned coral is beautiful! It looks quite intimidating but i have been wearing it almost everyday sheered out and it is AMAZING! My favourite lipstick I own by a mile.

I'm not as excited about this. It is gorgeous colour and I don't own anything like it but its just not me. I will use it for parties and that as it is gorgeous but I'm not in love with it. I'm not saying it's a bad product its just that i would have preferred a more neutral colour. It looks absolutely stunning over the Fiona lipstick.

When ever you are near a TKmaxx always have a little nosey sometime you don't find anything but sometime you find heaps and you want do buy the whole shop! I've found a Two Faced duo in  there once for £1.50, BARGAIN!!

Anyway I hope you liked this post and your not bored let me know some of the bargains that you have found at TKmaxx or just bargains in general:)

MUA BLUSH LOVE!

The blush that i have been reaching for nearly everyday recently is a blush from mua in shade 4!

I LOVE this colour! It's like a peachy, deep corally kinda colour (sorry not the best at describing things but you hopefully get the drift).

The blush itself is VERY pigmented, oneof the most pigmented blushes i have ever seen!!! The colour is really true to what it looks like in the pan which is always good:)

It goes on like a dream! You need a really light hand as it is very pigmented! It is a very buildable colour but I like to wear it more naturally but you can build it up to get a stronger colour. It lasts really long so you don't have to reaply it during the day which is always nice!

Overall I really this blush and will be looking at more of the blushes from mua sometime soon! You can only pick them up in superdrug but at a bargain price of £1 (always looking for a bargain I am;)!!! I really like it so I WILL be looking at the other colours!

If anyone has any good cheap blush recomendations then please let me know!:)

New favourite shampoo and conditioner???

Hi guys!

Today I'm going to talk to you anout my new favourite shampoo and conditioner!!!

left - conditioner     right - shampoo
The shampoo and conditioner that I am going to be talking about today is the L'Oreal Elvive Nurti-Gloss Light. I use it in the mid to long, fine hair, prone to greasiness.

I have about medium lenght, really thick which is prone to greasiness. So basically my hair is the exact same as it says on the packaging apart from the thickness but I feel that it dosn't make that big of a difference.

Before i started to use theese products I just used what ever was on offer in tesco or boots but I can tell you that that won't be happening anymore I LOVE this shampoo and conditioner. It makes my hair really shiny without looking greasy and my hair feels so soft after using it! With theese products i was my hair every second - third day where as before i would have to wash it everyday as it would just get reeeaaallly greasy:(

I have seen them displayed in my local tesco and boots but you could probably get them in lots of other places to! It's around £3.50 - £4 a bottle for 400ml but it's currently on offer in boots for half price.

Overall I really like this shampoo and conditioner combo and when the bottles that i currently have i will definatly be repurchasing it.

NAILED IT: MAX FACTOR MINIS

Today's post is going to be my first nail of the day post!

On my nails in the past couple of days I've been wearing to of the Max Factor Mini's in Pretty in Pink and on my ring finger Chilled Lilac as my accent colour.

Pretty in Pink isn't really a pink colour, well at least pink isn't the first colour i think of when i see it.  Pretty in Pink is a really pretty, pastel, coral leaning on the more of orange end of the spectrum.

Chilled Lilac is a very pretty pastel lilac colour. This is the first pastel lilac that i have bought before and i have to say that i really like it a lot.

The formula, it self of these polishes is very thin i had to apply about 3 to 5 coats on each nail to get a truly opaque colour. On that note I don't mind to much as the overall finish i think is worth doing that extra coats. I have had the polish on now for over a week and i have just minor chipping! The staying power of these polishes is just incredible! I don't really ever use a base coat but i always use the same top coat ( ProStrong base and top coat - just in case you were wondering)!I have to say the actual formula of polish is the best i have EVER tried!

I am defiantly going to be purchasing more from this line. The line has a total of 34 colours in there collection. I would love to get the fantasy fire one as Fleur (from FleurDeForce who you probably already know!) did a review on it and it looked great!

The bottle is tiny, but I like that because i have never been able to use up a whole bottle of nail varnish before. For one bottle of nail varnish you are £3.99 but when i bought my three bottles i got it on three for two so i recommend checking out your local boots for that!

Overall I really like this polish, super staying quality but not very opaque, for this price though i think they are worth it!

Bye for now!

Get To Know Me!!!

Hi Guys! I thought that for my first blog post i should tell you a little bit about myself!

I am a 13 year old girl, from the North of Scotland. I have always liked cosmetics and beauty in general but my obsession seams to be growing day by day! My collection is quite small but is more than the average girl of my age at my school (most of my friends only have a small sized makeup bag with products that they don't wear on a regular basis)!

Apart  from beauty i have a couple of other hobbies that i love! I am a free and ice dance skater (which means i do jumps, spins and all of the dances - rhythm blues, foxtrot etc...) I am level 2 for all of my free including field moves and 1 for my dance (just in case any of you were wondering or are figure skaters!). I also play the acoustic guitar and am on level 2 for that also.

I have glasses which i am growing to like. I like to read but i have to really get hooked on the book within the first couple of chapters or else i probably won't finish it! I am an avid Corrie fan (in fact i am watching it whilst typing this)! It's not just a little obsession it's HUGE. I will wake up an hour earlier before i normally would to go to school so i can watch the last couple of episodes! Mrs Brown's Boys and Don't tell the bride are also strong favourites of mine!. I am also into crime investigation programmes like Body of Proof and Rizzoli and Isles (I'm not to keen on C.S.I). I LOVED Ugly Betty and super sad when it stopped!

I think that i have babbled on enough once i start i just can't stop! Anyway i best be off now as i think a good bit of corrie is coming up (ha)!

I hope that you will come read again! Tell me what you're favourite telly shows are at the moment i would love it if you liked corrie too!!!
