Glossybox: July 2012

Glossybox - £10.00 + £2.95 P+P

I was really impressed with this months box! This box is meant to be there festival box. In my box there is 4 skincare products which I like one makeup and a perfume sample which I don't like but anyway the other products made up for it.

  • Bex London - London Urban Fragrance in W1X - I don't like this fragrance as I think it smells kind of like aftershave, but everyone is different so some people might like it.
  • Paul Mitchell - Awapuhi Moisture Mist - This is a multipurpose moisture spray. You can use it on your hair and skin. I have been using it on my skin to cool me down and give a little bit of moisture to the ends of my hair.
  • Monu - Eye Cool Gel - I have tried this a couple of times in the morning and it is really awakening and tones down my dark circles. I really like this, probably my favourite thing out of the box.
  • Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Frosting - Irish Cream Pavlova - A multifunctional cream gloss. You can use it on you lips or cheeks. A tint of colour on the lips or a glow on the cheeks. I haven't used this much yet.
  • Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - Dry Oil - I am very excited to try this. It is a multipurpose dry oil for face, body and hair. I'm not sure how to use it so I will be testing it out soon and letting you know how I get on with it. (Love the cute little glass bottle!)
        Extra product,
  • Elizabeth Arden - Visible Difference Hydrating Line - Three sachets, one of the cleanser, one of the serum and one of the moisturiser. Haven't tried it yet but looking forward to.
I am very pleased with this box. There are a lot of things that I wouldn't buy my self, which is the point of these beauty boxes to try new things. I will definitely be getting next months box.

Mac: Groundwork Paint Pot

My first Mac Paint Pot purchase might be a little different to most peoples as you would normally buy Rubenesque or Painterly but when I started to look at them I fell in love with this one, Groundwork. It a natural brown colour which leaves the eyes with just a hint of something. It isn't completely matt so it is kind of like a satin finish. You don't need a lot so it will defiantly last a while. It stays on about a good 5 - 6 hours without creasing but then it is just downhill from there. It doesn't bother me to much I will just apply my favourite eyelid primer ( bareMinerals Prime Time original) before I put on the paint pot. Or if you don't want to apply a primer you could just set it with a shadow.

I love the packaging, a little glass jar and a plastic lid! The sound it makes when it shuts... I could just listen to that all day! It is very pigmented so you don't have to use a lot and it blends out like a dream! At £14.50 I think it is worth it. Some people say that the Maybelline Colour Tattoos are dupes but they crease on me within the hour, so I don't think so. You can pick it up from most Mac counters, Mac stores and online. What ones would you recommend?

Bare Minerals Foundation Review

Hey guys, how are you?
Today I am going to be reviewing the Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation!

I was in town about just over a month ago and went to the bareMinerals counter and asked for a sample of the foundation. She was so nice she sat me up on her seat and colour matched me to the colour  - fairly light. I went off home with the sample to try the next day. I woke up and was excited to try it out well, it was like a match made in heaven! It evened out my skin and made it look flawless! I went into town the next week and bought the full size!

It leaves a lovely finish on the skin not like normal powdered foundations. It managed to make my face still glowy but not to much at the same time. It feels like just another layer of skin not a heavy layer of foundation. It says that it is clinically proven to improve the appearance of your skin over time. I think this will be a long term thing not something that will happen over one month but who knows I will have to get back to you on that one. It also says that it looks like a powder but feels like a cream, I completely agree with this it feels so creamy when you are buffing it in to the skin. Oh and just to note, to apply this I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush which is part of the Core Collection which you can pick up from boots!
It stays on the whole day ( a good 8 - 10 hours normally) without a primer. It is light-weight, easy to blend and a light - medium coverage which is buildable. I divide my face into 4 sections - right cheek, left cheek and forehead and the rest. I tend to start around my cheeks and nose as that is where I need the most coverage and then blend out.

I would recommend this foundation. Just to note I have normal - dry skin so I am not sure how this would work for oily skin but you can  get a matt version but I haven't tried it. You can pick this up from most department stores for £24 but I got mine from John Lewis.

What foundations have you been loving recently?

A little splurge...

Hey guys, How are you?

Sorry it's been a while I haven't been feeling very good, what a great way to start my summer holidays? So to try and perk myself up a bit I done a little bit of retail therapy! I have been saving for a while to get these things so I just thought, what the heck and bought them!

Yes I bought a Clinique Chubby Stick, Bare Minerals Foundation and a Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter.

I got the Clinique Chubby Stick in the colour 14 Curvy Candy. I is a lovely bright pink but a bit muted at the same time, it is also darker than a hot pink. I really like it! It is really glossy and moisturising on the lips. A full review will be coming up soon. I picked it up from Boots for £16.
A couple of weeks ago I got a sample of the Bare Minerals foundation and fell in love. It leaves my skin looking flawless, again a full review will be up soon. I am in the shade fairly light which is the second lightest. To be honest I was quite happy that I wasn't the lightest shade! It was £24 and I picked it up from John Lewis.
The Clarins counter was my last stop! I picked up the Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter in the shade 02, the peachy one. I have now found my new favourite lip gloss! I'm not a big lip gloss girl but I will get onto more why I like it in a review that should be coming up soon. Again I picked this up from Boots for £16.

I am thrilled with all of these purchase and have been enjoying using them the last couple of days. Full reviews will be coming in up on them soon! What products have you bought recently?
